BattleTech Center XR 🥽POC (Quest3)

• Just an awesome POC for Meta Quest 3  (or Pro - not tested)
• Not optimized and might have a "lower" frame rate, so you might not want to try it if you are prone to motion sickness, but the mech itself is not moving yet...

This is just a Meta Quest 3 fan POC project of how it "kind of" feels in a Mech Cockpit similar to the BattleTech Centers / Virtual World Centers I grew up with, and want of bring the spirit back to all generations, who sadly missed out on this great and unique experience. As of now the cockpits can be found in only 2 sites in the United States (according to Wikipedia).

BattleTech Centers are commercial virtual entertainment venues that feature multiplayer virtual combat in the fictional BattleTech universe. The games are played in fully enclosed cockpits with multiple screens, joysticks, and rudder pedals.

The BattleTech Center later became known as “Virtual World Centers” as the organization expanded its product line and the quantity of physical storefronts. The development of cockpit based simulators and their deployment were key to the development of “Location Based Entertainment” in the early 1990s and early adoption of “Virtual Reality Centers” in public awareness.
